The Friends fundraise throughout the year to provide much needed funds for the children of our school.

Activities throughout the Year

The Friends committee aims to organise a major fundraising event each term in an effort to assist the school financially.  Over the last year we were able to fund the children’s annual Christmas Party, held at the Pine Lodge.  The children had a fantastic time, not least thanks to our entertainer!  Following the party the Friends invited Father Christmas to visit all of the children at school to celebrate the end of the term.

In recent years we have held a Spring Fayre, at the Pine Lodge where we manage a variety of stalls, arts and crafts activities and games, with the older children being very enterprising and running their own stalls!  We’ve also been part of the village Christmas Fayre, run events for the families and villagers, such as Oktoberfest and Burns night evenings and run after-school activities like Cinema & Computer club evenings.

Our biggest event is our Maypole evening held in July, with the children performing various dances around the Maypole on the village green. We have a pig roast and enjoy what is (usually!) a beautiful summer evening, raising much needed funds in the process.

In recent years we have been able to use funds to support the children’s learning by purchasing new maths equipment and resources (e.g. chrome books and a new reading scheme). We have also financed the erection of a new ball fence on the perimeter of the playground facing the road.  This has been of great benefit to the children during their PE sessions and playtimes and has meant fewer balls lost!

Easyfundraising.org.uk

Events form the core of our fund raising, but activities on a smaller scale, like cake sales; make an important contribution, as does our membership of Easyfundraising and Giveasyoulive, which enables our supporters to raise money for the school and get someone else to pay for it!  Every time you make an online purchase via these companies – which covers over 2000 online retailers – the Friends receive a percentage of the purchase price.  This has added valuable funds to the kitty and the Committee would like to encourage all parents and supporters to use this very simple way of helping us – and to mention it to friends and family.

It’s easy to sign up to #easyfundraising, FREE and makes such a BIG difference to us. Over 7,000 brands will donate to us every time you shop online.

Plus, once you’ve raised your first £5, easyfundraising will double it!

If you’re planning ahead and booking a holiday, please use #easyfundraising! You can raise a BIG donation for Friends of Little Milton Church of England Primary School at no extra cost to yourself! Plus, for a limited time, book with selected travel brands and you’ll be entered into their giveaway for your chance to WIN £1,000 spending money!

200 Club

The 200 Club, run by Mrs Austin, raises funds for school – and perhaps you!  You can join in November each year and for only £12.00 a year you will be included in a monthly draw for cash prizes.  Half the amount raised from the sale of tickets is given away in prizes each month.

We need your help!

Don’t forget – all parents and families automatically become Friends when their child/children join our school and we welcome all support in any and every way! Please think about joining the committee or supporting events by giving the help needed to manage them on or before the day.

Please consider putting your name down on a list of helpers that we can call on when needed – please email or speak to any Committee member.

As always, all parents are welcome to Friends meetings – come along and let us have your view and ideas!
