Thames Water Visitor

As part of our topic on water this term, we were lucky enough to have a visitor from Thames Water on Monday who explained how clean water is provided to us and how waste water is treated.  It was very informative and we learned lots of interesting facts.  The 4 minute shower timers were also much appreciated- thank you Thames Water!

Oxford Playhouse

We’ve been delighted to host the Oxford Playhouse actors for the last couple of days: they put up a marquee in the playground and have treated us to fantastic performances on the theme of space. Thank you for such a great opportunity!

Winner!

One of our Year 6s won a competition open to all Oxfordshire schools: he designed an interactive Christmas card using coding technology. He was presented with his prizes at a recent celebration assembly, and has also won for school a subscription to Purple Mash! We look forward to using it and having him teach us all!

Teachers’ Bake Off

Staff brought their creations to school yesterday and we sold slices of cake and biscuits in aid of Friends of Little MIlton School at our Open Afternoon. The sun came out for the exact time of our celebration, ukeleles were in tune and we were thrilled to welcome so many visitors. Thanks to all who helped!

World Book Day

We have had an amazing morning in The Acorn Class ! Children have been sharing books with each other and discussing characters. At one point Elmer the Elephant was sharing a book with a Triceratops, Jasmine the Puppy was sharing a book with Sleeping Beauty , and we are only half way through the day. We are hoping that we have lots of Mums and Dads, and grannies and granddads to come and share books with us at 2.30 .

We Use Our Brain in Class 3!

We have been thinking about our brain and learning about how it works, as part of our lessons on mindfulness.  We are also finding that ‘brain breaks’ throughout the day focus our minds and help us in our learning.
