We have been thinking about our brain and learning about how it works, as part of our lessons on mindfulness.  We are also finding that ‘brain breaks’ throughout the day focus our minds and help us in our learning.

Owls Class dragon egg shock!

Owls Class were shocked and excited to find that a dragon had left her egg in their classroom! Luckily,Owls Class have been studying dragons this term and the mother dragon has also left a scroll with instructions for when the egg hatches…

Paper Aeroplane Investigation!

We made paper aeroplanes as part of out topic on flight.  Some people investigated whether  the size of the plane made it fly further and others wanted to find out if the material it was made from affected its flight.  It was a busy afternoon and we had great fun!

Firework Fun in Class 3!

We decorated firework biscuits and made ‘sparkler’ biscuits to help us with our recipe writing…they also fed our ‘appetite’ for learning too!

Year 4 Trip to le manoir

Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic experience at le manoir cookery school. Chefs demonstrated how to cook several dishes, which we then tasted. Class 3 French Day!

We had a lovely day dressed in red, white and blue practising our French.  We learned new French words and Mrs Hay came in to talk to us about France- she even brought delicious French crêpes in for us to eat!- merci beaucoup!

A Roman Banquet!

We had a fantastic day pretending to be Romans in the Roman Empire and everyone looked fantastic in their Roman clothes.  We finished the day with a Roman banquet and tried new foods such as figs and olives (although not stuffed dormice)!
